Thoracic Spine Fractures
50 Y/O male that fell off a ladder approximately 15 feet while hanging Christmas lights. Fortunately, he was taken to a trauma certified hospital where neurosurgical spine surgeons were immediately call after he was stabilized. Luckily, he was moving all of his extremities despite his surveillance images showed multiple thoracic spine fractures. (Images below)
He underwent spinal fusion percutaneously avoiding a large incision and muscle disruption, not to mention hours of anesthesia. Eight small puncture wounds are all that was needed to stabilize his spinal column and prevent neurological injury.
